GH PH DOWN LIQUID

With the use of the General Hydroponics pH Down liquid, you may decrease the pH in your reservoir to the desired range. This acid is made from food-grade phosphoric acid. If you didn't know, plants may be quite erratic when it comes to absorbing nutrients. If the pH isn't in the optimal range (5.5-6.5), some nutrients will be locked out, resulting in toxicities and shortages that cause wilting, stalled growth, and other negative effects.

Because our formulae are pH buffered, users of General Hydroponics nutrient products typically have little trouble keeping the right pH range. There are several significant exceptions, though. When nutrient solutions are combined with low-grade water, pH-unstable media (such as rock wool or gravel products), or high plant growth rates (which destabilize the nutrient mix due to the crop's rapid nutrient absorption), the acid content can increase to unacceptable levels.

Therefore, it is your responsibility as the grower to check the reservoir's conditions before each feeding or watering. Use General Hydroponics pH Down liquid to bring the pH back down to the ideal range if you observe a spike in pH above 6.5.

ABOUT PLANT NUTRIENTS

All plants need three main base nutrients on a regular basis throughout their life cycle: nitrogen (N), phosphorus (P), and potassium (K). These three macro-nutrients are usually displayed on the packaging of plant nutrients as NPK ratio.

Nitrogen (N) - Nitrogen is very mobile in the soil, and nitrogen in the form of nitrate has a tendency to leach away from the root zone. Nitrogen can also be lost to the atmosphere. Certain fertilizers, particularly urea, are easily converted to volatile forms of nitrogen if they are watered or incorporated into the soil after application. Soil testing for nitrogen is unreliable because it is so mobile in the soil. Potassium (K) - Potassium is essential for photosynthesis, as regulation of cell turgidity, respiration, and water movement in the plant. It also controls the opening and closing of the plant’s stomata. Adequate potassium fertilization helps plants cope with drought stress, increases disease resistance, improves winter hardiness, and improves crop quality.
