PK SPIKE – 500ML

Green Planet PK Spike - 500ml, is a flowering booster made from a variety of highly soluble phosphorus and potassium sources. This substance is intended to promote flowering plant blossoming, bulking, and ripening.

Phosphorous is crucial to the critical processes that help the plant develop flowers during the flowering period. It facilitates photosynthesis, energy transfer, and the simple intake of plant nutrients necessary for budding in the plant. The addition of potassium strengthens cell walls to support heavy blossoms and aids in the conversion of phosphorous into energy your plant can use. Stronger cell walls contribute to plant health by enhancing the plant's defense against diseases and fending off pests.

Additionally, plants short in potassium have loose, airy blooms that need to be tightened up by potassium. The end result is a strong plant that will give you its highest yields to date.

ABOUT GREENPLANET NUTRIENTS

GreenPlanet’s growers will often tell you how much better their growing experiences have been since switching to our plant fertilizers.

We’re passionate about sourcing the purest, cleanest water while using the highest quality ingredients and materials, ensuring that the environment is protected and improving the lives of the people who grow with them. It is for this reason specifically that we produce the world’s best plant fertilizers.

Pacific Northwest Garden Supply Ltd was started by Steven Betts in 1993 with one store in British Columbia, Canada. Having previously worked in the hydroponics industry, Steven had a strong desire to learn and to get involved in the industry by supporting urban agriculture. Shortly after launching the first location, Steven brought on his first partner Justin Cooper to help him with the original PNW location.

For decades, the Pacific Northwest has been home to some of the world’s highest-quality craft growers. A like-minded community of individuals, historically thriving in the shadows, all the while sharing knowledge and experiences with each other.

It was here that Steven and Justin recognized the need for higher quality, more competitively priced plant nutrients. With this in mind, they began to formulate and then develop what has now become an iconic brand in the industry, GreenPlanet Nutrients.

ABOUT PLANT NUTRIENTS

All plants need three primary base nutrients on a regular basis throughout their life cycle: nitrogen (N), phosphorus (P), and potassium (K). These three macro-nutrients are usually displayed on the packaging of plant nutrients as NPK ratio.

Nitrogen (N) - Nitrogen is very mobile in the soil, and nitrogen in the form of nitrate has a tendency to leach away from the root zone. Nitrogen can also be lost to the atmosphere. Certain fertilizers, particularly urea, are easily converted to volatile forms of nitrogen if they are watered or incorporated into the soil after application. Soil testing for nitrogen is unreliable because it is so mobile in the soil. Timing of nitrogen fertilizer application should be crop-specific Excessive nitrates in drinking water are an environmental concern—another reason to maximize nitrogen utilization by plants and minimize excessive applications.

Phosphorus (P) - Phosphorus is essential in energy transformations in the plant. Without adequate phosphorus, carbohydrates manufactured in the leaves could not be transported to the flower or developing fruit, or stored in roots or bulbs. Phosphorus is usually associated with flowers, fruiting, and carbohydrate storage in roots, tubers, and bulbs.

Potassium (K) - Potassium is essential for photosynthesis, as regulation of cell turgidity, respiration, and water movement in the plant. It also controls the opening and closing of the plant’s stomata. Adequate potassium fertilization helps plants cope with drought stress, increases disease resistance, improves winter hardiness, and improves crop quality.
